アレステ(カンヌビ・ボスキス)は、サンドローネが設立当初から造り続けるフラッグシップワイン。 ルチアーノは大手ネゴシアンで長く醸造の仕事に従事した後、バローロの中心にあるカンヌビの畑を購入し、1978年に最初の収穫を行いました。初めて自ら造ったワインに感銘を覚え、少しずつ畑を増やし毎年造り続けるうちに認知されるようになりました。現在カンヌビの麓にある新しい醸造所は近代的な設備を備え、バローロ、ランガ、ロエロの地区に最上の畑を所有。全てのワインは固有の土壌、ミクロクリマ、酵母を持つ個々の区画を表現したもので、それぞれの畑を理解し、日々注意を払い尊重することによって初めてその個性をワインに映し出しています。 「バローロ アレステ」は、1977年からクリュワインとして発売し、1985年にラベルにクリュ名を表示。屈指のクリュワインとしての評価を確立し、サンドローネの名は世界に広められることとなります。2013年よりルチアーノ氏が家族への感謝と新世代への継承を示すため、2人の孫の名前を組み合わせ「アレステ」という名前に変更されました。 ランガ地区の畑をブレンドすることで一定の個性と味わいを備えたワインを造ることができますが、ルチアーノはカンヌビ・ボスキスを選び、 1985年より毎年個別に醸造しています。クリュの概念をもたらし、革新者と言われるようになりました。 ■テイスティングノート■ 2019年のバローロ・アレステは、カンヌビの丘の中腹という恵まれた立地の特徴を際立たせている。温暖で低地のカンヌビという立地が、この若いワインにボディと厚みを与えつつ、冷涼なヴィンテージに典型的な荘厳さと熟成能力を保っている。ノーズはまだ閉じているが、すでにバラ、スミレ、黒い果実、スパイスのノートが滲み出ている。口に含むと、ワインはまだやや未熟な段階だが、数年の辛抱で、カンヌビの丘の産物の特徴である類まれなエレガンスと力強さを備えたワインがコレクターに報われるだろう。味わいにはベリー、甘草、スパイスの風味があり、バラ、タール、ミネラルのニュアンスもある。 2019年ヴィンテージは私たちに「モダン・クラシック」を与えてくれたが、2019年バローロ・アレステはその素晴らしい例である。 ■2019年ヴィンテージ情報■ 雨の多い長い冬と早春は、土壌に良好な水分補給をもたらした。生長サイクルの再開は正常で、3月末に出芽した。本格的な暑さは開花後、むしろ6月末に到来し、少なくとも10日間持続した。残りの生育サイクルは、ヴェレゾン直前の10日間を除き、平年より涼しかった。夏の間、断続的に降った雨がブドウの木と下草を冷やした。9月5日の豪雨では、バローロとバルバレスコの一部地域に雹が降った。幸いなことに、どの畑にも被害はなかった。9月6日以降は、暑く乾燥した日中と涼しい夜間という、残りの収穫期間を通じて完璧なコンディションとなった。収穫作業は10月12日に行われた。 ■テクニカル情報■ 畑：Barolo Cannubi Boschis 標高：250m 平均樹齢：30年 土壌：石灰岩質粘土でまばらに砂の層 醸造：開放式ステンレスタンクでマセラシオンとアルコール発酵、500リットルのフレンチオーク樽でマロラクティック発酵と熟成。さらに18ヶ月瓶熟。 LUCIANO SANDRONE BAROLO ALESTE ルチアーノ・サンドローネ バローロ アレステ 生産地：イタリアピ エモンテ バローロ 原産地呼称：DOCG. With fruit from Cannubi Boschis, the 2019 Barolo Aleste shows important richness and structure. This is the proverbial Barolo with a capital B. It reveals thick layers of dark fruit, cherry and spice. It shows sweet tannins and impactful texture. When tasting at the winery, Le Vigne is usually served first, and Aleste comes after that. Both wines promise a very long aging window. Luciano Sandrone died in January 2023 after a battle with cancer. He was 76 years old. Luciano Sandrone was a transformational figure in Barolo who helped to elevate the wine to the worldwide status it enjoys today. For those of us who regularly tasted with him, he will be remembered for his kind smile, the love he showed for his family, his quest for quality and that bright blue apron that seemed permanently affixed to his torso. Winemaking will be continued by his brother Luca, who joined the winery in 1992. Luciano's daughter Barbara manages the commercial side of the business. His granddaughter Alessia has recently joined Luca in the cellars, and his grandson Stefano continues his university studies. Our deepest condolences go to the entire Sandrone family. Published: Aug 25, 2023 vinous：97 ポイント 97 Drinking Window 2029 - 2049 From: 2019 Barolo: Back on Track (Jan 2023) The 2019 Barolo Aleste is another stellar wine from Sandrone. Like Le Vigne, the Aleste is a tightly wound ball of energy. Dark cherry, mocha, plum, licorice and lavender all race across the palate. This racy, but youthfully austere Barolo has a ton to offer. There's more density and a darker profile than in the Le Vigne, sort of like a soloist to Le Vigne's orchestra. - By Antonio Galloni on November 2022 Sandrone was the first stop on my trip for this report. Maybe there was some sort of meaning to that. I learned of Luciano Sandrone's passing just as we are going to press. To say Sandrone was a titan of Barolo is a massive understatement. Sandrone defined an entire generation of Barolo growers. With all due respect to his contemporaries, Sandrone did several things none of them did. First, he created an estate from nothing, with no inherited land, but rather with a vineyard he and his wife Mariuccia purchased. Sandrone almost immediately found remarkable balance, crafting Barolos that were decidedly modern in style and appealed to wine lovers reared on the classics. The 1989 and especially 1990 Cannubi Boschis were among his first iconic wines. Last and maybe most importantly, Sandrone was the only grower of his generation to create a winery and was able to climb the ranks and become part of Piedmont's elite, that small group of historic, family-run estates whose wines are highly sought in the secondary market. I tasted these new releases with Sandrone's brother Luca, daughter Barbara and granddaughter Alessia, who represents the next generation. All three wines were spectacular both at the estate and in my office in New York a few weeks later. Luca Sandrone described 2019 as a year with heavy rains in the winter but no extremes during the growing season. Harvest for the Nebbiolo ran from October 9 through 18, starting with Villero and finishing with Le Coste. On that subject, 2019 is the first vintage of Le Vigne that incorporates fruit from Le Coste in the blend. The Aleste and Le Vigne were in tonneau by November, where they finished the malolactic fermentations. Total time in wood was 20-22 months. The Vite Talin follows a different protocol. It was fermented in wood and saw an extended submerge cap fermentation. It spent two years in tonneau and a year in cask.
